DESCRIPTION

Mera Peak is less difficult technically so it is popular to those people who has not long experience of climbing. Mr Roberts and Sen has first of all explored this peak in 20 May 1953. The trail to Mera peak crosses dense forest (pines, hemlocks, birches and luxuriant rhododendrons). It holds astonishing summit panorama including five of the world’s 8000m peaks: Kangchenjunga (8586m), Makalu (8475m), Lhotse (8501m), Everest (8848m) and Cho Oyo (8153m). Ascending on snow slopes up to summit.

After the summit back to Lukla same route or continue to Mingbola or Amphulaptsa la or Serapani col through Hunku valley and panch pokhari ( 5 lakes). Hongu and Hinku uninhabited valleys are grazing kharkas. Amphulaptsa and Mingbo la passes are considered technically difficult. The trekking Mera to Amphu Laptsa /Mingbo La passes through wilder upper hongu valley. The trekking holds the views of Himalayas and hearty scenery of lakes Hunku lakes and Panch Pokhari lakes. Amphu Laptsa is to be passed technically to Chukkung Valley and Mingbo La to Nare glacier.

This trekking is also famous for its sherpa villages, monasteries and culture. Trekking in Everest region Everest Mera Amphu laptsa trekking is breathtaking and requires a good walking experience and a good physical health codition. This trekking is very interesting walking with its panoramic view of Everest 8848m, Cho Oyu 8152m, Lhotse 8516m, Makalu 8463m and Ama Dablam 6456m. through the famous Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Buddhist Monastery, Khunde Khumjung etc. Settlement of mixed ethnic group Brahman, Chhetri, Magar, Tamang in the low land and Sherpa in highland of Solukhumbu Everest region.
